EDC GEAR AND FLASHLIGHT REVIEWS

Well this is going to be the first part of an ongoing series discussing cheap, yet surprisingly good quality knives coming out of China.  I was recently turned onto some inexpensive brands of Chinese pocket knives through the forums.  The brands that were mentioned are Enlan , which also makes the brand Bee, and a company called Sanrenmu , who apparently make knives for some of the larger American knife companies, such as Spyderco, Buck and Gerber.  Other companies mentioned are Navy and Ganzo. Well curiosity got the better of me and the price point was right($9-18), so I found a bunch of them on a Chinese website called Exduct.com .  I ordered a mix of Sanrenmu, Enlan, Ganzo and Navy knives and the wait was on.  After waiting about two weeks the first one arrived at my door.  It was a Sanrenmu GB8-707 , which apparently is exactly the same as the CRKT Drifter .  It cost about $9 shipped, which is incredible as the CRKT branded one is about double th...

This knife, the Ambitious , is the smallest in the Chinese made series of knives put out by Spyderco .  Here are it's specs: length overall 5.812 " (148 mm) blade length 2.25 " (57 mm) blade steel 8Cr13MoV length closed 3.594 " (91 mm) cutting edge 2.25 " (57 mm) weight 3 oz. (85 g) blade thickness .125 " (3 mm) handle material G-10 This knife is part of their Value Folder line and cost $30CAD from eBay.  For a cheap folder it uses some decent steel( 8Cr13MoV ), which from other reviews takes a sharp edge quite easily.  Downsides is that it lacks a bit in edge retention and is a bit prone to rusting.  Handle material is G-10 which I quite like, as it is quite grippy and durable without being overly aggressive where it wants to shred pants.  It has three bigger brothers, in order of size going up, they are the Persistence , Tenacious , and the Resilience .  I like this knife for EDC as it just slips into a pocket or clips into the watch pocket of a...
